Biography

Douglas Curran is a trial lawyer and partner in BraunHagey & Borden’s New York office. He represents clients in complex commercial litigation, with a particular focus on high-stakes financial and intellectual property disputes. He represents corporations and individuals across a variety of industries, including financial services, private equity, cryptocurrency, and emergent technology. Douglas works to understand the details of his clients’ businesses in order to advance their commercial objectives and secure favorable outcomes on their behalf.

Douglas has been recognized by Law360 as an under-40 Rising Star in the nationwide Trials category, and by the American Lawyer in its Litigator of the Week series.  As trial counsel for both plaintiffs and defendants in federal and state court, he has secured a variety of notable recent successes for BHB’s clients, including in cases involving financial fraud, trade-secret misappropriation, cryptocurrency investments and insolvency, high-level corporate governance disputes, trademark infringement, and commercial espionage.

Douglas is also passionate about his pro bono work. He has worked with several non-profit organizations offering legal services to indigent clients, and he has devoted significant time and energy to representing underprivileged clients in a variety of domestic and civil matters.

Personal

Douglas lives in the New York City area with his family. You can find him hiking with his dog and skiing every chance he gets.
